• What are the regular office hours?

    • Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM.

  • If I have an emergency, how do I get hold of Dr. Sogocio at night and/or during the weekend?

    • If you have an obstetrical emergency or think you may be in labor, we advise that you go directly to Mercy Medical Center, or the nearest hospital. You may also call 9-1-1 in the case of a medical emergency.

      If you do not have an emergency but need to speak to your physician, you may call the physician's answering service at: 1 866-660-9167.

  • Will my physician respond to my medical questions via e-mail?

    • Currently Dr. Sogocio does not respond to medical questions asked via e-mail.

  • What insurances are taken at the office?

    • The office accepts limited insurance carriers. Please contact the office to confirm participation with your insurance plan.

  • When do I pay my co-pay?

    • If you have an office visit co-pay, it is to be paid at the time services are rendered. Failure to do so will result in an additional administrative fee.

  • Which forms of payment does Merced Ob/Gyn Care accept?

    • We accept exact cash payments and personal checks. The fee for a returned check is $45. We also accept credit card payments.

  • Does the office accept walk-ins? Can I arrange a same day appointment?

    • No walk-ins are seen at the office. If you need to see the physician immediately, please call the office to make an appointment as soon as possible—Dr. Sogocio will try to accommodate your request.

  • What if I am late for or miss an appointment?

    • If an established patient is more than 15 minutes late for her appointment, or fails to come to the appointment, she may be automatically re-scheduled for another date, or the patient may have to wait until the other scheduled patients are seen. New patients who do not show up for their initial visit or who arrive late may be delayed in re-scheduling their appointments.

      If the patient misses an appointment, she will be responsible for contacting the office to re-schedule. There is a $50 fee for each missed appointment or "no show". Multiple "no show" or canceled appointments will result in both additional administrative fees and formal termination of care.

      If a patient needs to re-schedule her appointment, the office staff appreciates a 24-hr notice.

  • How do I request refills for my prescription?

    • You may call the office during regular business hours and request a prescription refill. Please allow 24 hours to process the request; any requests made after business hours or on the weekends will be addressed and/or filled the next business day. Patients must be up to date with their annual exams and/or be compliant with their current care in order for refill requests to be considered. Refills can also be requested via the Patient Portal.

      To help expedite your request, you may call your pharmacy to have the refill request sent electronically or by fax to our office. The office fax number is: (877) 682-6602.

  • Where are blood tests performed?

    • Patients are sent to any of the following labs in Merced:
      - Quest (Olive Street)
      - CV
      - Pathology Inc.

  • Which hospital is Dr. Sogocio affiliated with?

    • She is affiliated with Mercy Medical Center Merced.

  • If appropriate, can my surgery be performed at an outpatient medical center?

    • Yes. Dr. Sogocio has surgical privileges at the Dignity Health Outpatient Center (Pavillion) and at the University Surgery Center in Merced.
